What do you like most about dental school?

The familial relationship I’ve developed with not only my classmates, but many
colleagues in other classes and faculty throughout the school as well, is like nothing I’ve
ever been part of before. Experiencing the highs and lows of dental school side-by-side
creates a bond that is sure to carry on for so many years to come.

What has been your favorite ASDA experience so far?

My favorite ASDA experience is the National Leadership Conference, which I attended in
October 2019. I learned about so many topics that are of interest to me, including
finding a work-life balance, malpractice in dentistry, and everything in between. A
vendor fair allowed me to learn about the latest innovations in dentistry and network
with companies that provide resources to dentists of all levels. One of the best parts of
attending conferences like NLC is the opportunity to interact with students from dental
schools around the country.

What is your favorite quote?

“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The
time will pass anyway.”

What is your biggest piece of advice for pre-dental students looking to apply?

Find an undergraduate major that you love and are passionate about. The more unique,
the more it will set you apart from other applicants and make interviewers remember
you. It won’t put you at a disadvantage to be studying other fields, because completing
the pre-requisites will cover what you need to know coming into dental school.

What’s been the most memorable experience from dental school so far?

White Coat Ceremony and the celebrations with classmates the rest of the weekend. It
is such a memorable moment on your path to becoming a dentist, and you get to share
it with colleagues that you’ll be friends with for the rest of your life!
